Mmmmmmmmmmmm........... coffee. It's warm, it's a drug, and it goes sploosh in your stomach.
But this post isn't about coffee, it's about snakes.
In my post "Top 10 Kinds of Snakes," I ranked the genus Ninia as #1. Since there are 10 species in the genus Ninia, I thought today I would rank them. Before we get started, let's talk about Ninia snakes all together: they are native to Mexico, Central America, and the northern part of South America. They are commonly referred to as coffee snakes, hence the name of this post.
10. Ninia franciscoi
It breaks my heart to rank any kind of coffee snake last, but seeing as I couldn't find any pictures of this species, I have to rank them here. Time to go into my mud hut and cry for seventeen days!
9. Ninia celata
I couldn't find a better picture, sorry. But it's still beautiful.
8. Ninia atrata
Also called Hallowell's coffee snake. It's wearing a red choker, which is SO 2006, but it's still a gorgeous specimen.
7. Ninia psephota
These are called cope's snake or checkered snake. Look at the pattern on this tiny man!
6. Ninia diademata
A yellow scarf! Ooh mama, this snake is trendy. Ninia "I WILL sssteal your man" diademata is not here to play. Look out, world!
5. Ninia espinali
Sssleek. Ssstylish. Sssexy.
4. Ninia pavimentata
Named after a cross of pavement and titties, this snake is my fourth favorite coffee snake. Its grayscale has me swooning, and its eyes scream D E S T R U C T I O N. Yay!
3. Ninia hudsoni
The white collar clashes with the sleek black scales. Wow! This snake's coloration, unlike the other coffee snakes with a band around their neck, is timeless. White truly does go with everything! This snake's name also reminds me of the Hudson River, so yeah.
2. Ninia maculata
This snake is the one I featured in my last blog post! Look at her!
1. Ninia sebae
In first place, we have the red coffee snake. I truly do love all coffee snakes, but this red one really stole my heart. It looks like is a brick had sex with the snake from Heaven that convinced Eve to eat that apple, and I am head-over-heels in love with it. Ninia sebae? More like Ninia seBAE.
I know this is over, but I want to leave you all with one bonus image because these snakes are so cute. This is a tiny baby Hallowell's coffee snakes. I know they were ranked at #8, but I love all species of coffee snakes and just want to share how cute they are!!
